OPTICAL STRESS

MEASUREMENT

EQUIPMENT

Desktop Polarimeter, PS-100

Used for:

Visual inspection and measurement of stresses in glass and plastic

Application:
  • Photoelastic stress analysis.
  • Stress measurement in float, annealed, laminated or tempered glass products.
  • Quality control and process control
  • Measurement of residual strain, orientation and birefringence.

Residual stresses can enhance a product making it stronger, or contribute to the product’s failure.

Principle of operation:

PS-100 measures and displays residual stress through a glass or plastic sample. It is a modular instrument with a wide range of accessories, which enables a full range of measurement tasks.

Features:

The procedure is non-destructive and can be used on flat or curved glass or plastic.

Technical characteristics:

Dimensions: 360x310x400mm
